GIRA DERISE-WEAVER

Gira Derise-Weaver is a new resident of Oakland where she lives with her husband, daughter, and dog. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA cum laude in Theatre Arts. Since then, she has spent the last 14 years performing, choreographing, and directing for New Jersey community theaters from Glen Rock to Edison. Her most recent directing credits include the 2018 production of “Newsies” at Rhino Theatre in Pompton Lakes, where she was also in rehearsals for “West Side Story” in Spring 2020. Additionally, she can be seen performing throughout NJ during the holiday season as a soprano with the Yuletide Carolers. She hopes to found her own performing arts company in the near future.
